STINT

by Laura Adams

As a new Stinter stepping into a new city with 1.1 million college students I felt a lot of things. I felt excited and hopeful for what was to come, and slightly overwhelmed. In the next two years the Lord brought me through all those things and through many more. Through English Cafe I made friends with students who had never heard the Gospel and was able to share my life with them. I learned about God's plan for them and that God's plan for them was way better than MY plan. I rejoiced as I saw my Russian friends take steps toward believing the full Gospel. I helped Russian believers share their testimonies with their friends and encouraged them as they continued to reach out.

After being back in America for a year I can honestly say that STINT was a life changing experience. Moscow gave me a small taste of what it is like to build community in a city where Christians are few and far between - and it left me hungry to do that in every area of my life. Paul's experience in Thessaloniki explains my experience in Moscow the best:

"Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us. " 1 Thess 2:8
